Join Dr. Corey Regnerus as he introduces our next Nurse Webinar speaker, Vet Nursing Lecturer and Registered Vet Nurse Steph MacPherson who will discuss the prevalence and clinical importance of treating obesity in pets. Along with how nurses can implement weight loss programs and nutrition consults to help manage obesity in their feline and canine patients. Dr. Corey Regnerus will cover briefly, Nutritional support for weight loss and digital tools available to devise a weight loss program to help owners reach goals and remain compliant. Steph MacPherson
Steph is a UK trained RVN, with a long history of leadership in NZ including past president of NZVNA. She has experience in equine and companion animal practice, and now is back into tertiary teaching. Steph has been part of the Allied Veterinary Professional Regulatory Council since 2019. She says she is involved with AVPRC to see better utilisation of the Veterinary Nurse and the need for recognition, regulation, client education on the role of a VN and better pay and work conditions.

Dr. Corey Regnerus
Dr. Corey's clinical experience lies predominantly in small animal medicine, but also includes experiences with Government, Food Safety, and Biosecurity. Prior to a formal veterinary education at Massey University, he also was a Veterinary Technician in the USA in small animal practice, as well as Emergency and Critical Care providing a unique foundation supporting a comprehensive angle to his educational delivery from a holistic veterinary practice approach to pet care, health and wellbeing.
